Steps to Develop First Faith Based Rehabilitation Program

Gracehaven is faced with the dilemma of having to “create the wheel” when it comes to creating a program for the rehabilitation and restoration of young girls who have been exposed to commercial sexual exploitation. The reason for this is that there are currently only 3 programs within the United States that specialize in this unique type of rehabilitation. Unfortunately, each of these programs is different regarding their approach, their use of services, the length of time the girls are able to stay within the program, and finally, none of these programs are faith based. For this reason, there is no model program that Gracehaven can immediately adopt. This has required us to develop our own curriculum and program built upon a faith based therapeutic model.
If you have any suggestions or resources that might be useful feel free to leave a comment. We are looking forward to interacting with you.

The Website looks great! I would suggest looking into Formational Prayer as a type of counseling for these girls. It beautifully fuses together counseling with an encounter with Jesus. It is non-intrusive and gentle and allows for God to do all the work. It also focuses in a very needed way on right brain interaction.
Here is one place to get information: http://seminary.ashland.edu/ifc/index.html
Also, please consider contacting Terry Wardle and the counseling department to better explore this approach to counseling.
I will surely be praying as this program is developed.
