Where Victims are Now
What happens with these adolescents now?
Usually, one of two things happens with these adolescents. They may be arrested for solicitation and placed in juvenile detention. Secondly, since they often have an unstable family environment, they may be placed in foster care from which they typically run back to the streets.
Are there any facilities that specialize in rehabilitating these victims?
In 2007, the department of Health and Human Services commissioned a study to investigate how many facilities in the U.S. specialize in treating these victims. The study found 4 organizations with a total of 45 beds in the U.S. Since that study, one facility has shut down due to lack of funding, leaving a total of 39 beds in the U.S.
