Since Gracehaven started in February of 2008, many of you have written with generous offers of help. I can’t tell you how much of an encouragement that has been to us! It is so critical to us in this dark world of human trafficking to know that there are so many who are behind us in our efforts. Unfortunately, until Gracehaven is able to open our house, there are very few tangible ways that people can help us outside of raising money.
As many of you know, we have found a house NW of Columbus that sits on 9.5 acres of land. It is absolutely perfect for what we want to do with Gracehaven. The house currently has 4 bedrooms and is large enough that it can easily be converted to a 5-bedroom home with 4 full baths! There will also be a large room we can use as a schoolroom and another large area for exercise and fun activities. And with almost 10 acres, there is plenty of room for future expansion as the Lord provides!
The cost of the house is $200,000, and we expect the cost of renovations to be between $100,000-150,000 depending on the amount of volunteer labor we will have available. Beyond that, we will have large budget needs for hired staff and professional services to our future residents.
So, in light of the fact that most of our current volunteer needs relate to raising funds to begin our work, we’ve created this fundraising kit for those who are willing to help Gracehaven in this way. This is meant only as a tool to help you in creating your fundraiser, so feel free to be creative with this tool, and by all means, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
