Why we exist
Human trafficking is a horrific problem, both in its scope and the depth of depravity it entails. In our opinion, there is no worse form of human trafficking than child sex trafficking. Fortunately, there are a growing number of organizations that are battling this problem on many different fronts. Many of these organizations have been started from the perspective of a desire to make the world a better place and to alleviate the suffering found in human trafficking. Often these organizations are born out of the emotional response of individuals or groups who learn about the horrors and trauma endured within human trafficking. We certainly understand those motivations.
Gracehaven however, was born out of a calling from God, and exists today due to His faithfulness to that calling. While we are often emotionally impacted by the stories we hear and occasionally overwhelmed by the sheer injustice we encounter, we remain committed and involved in this cause because this is what God has called us to do.
The fact that God has called Gracehaven into being provides the motivation for all of us at Gracehaven to remain engaged in the cause in spite of the horrific stories, the inevitable struggles, and periodic disappointments that come our way. It also means that we will remain in this cause until the Lord calls us home.
