Progress toward opening our shelter

Gracehaven is based out of Columbus, Ohio. We have one shelter in greater Columbus area – which is currently under renovation, so we are not yet open. When we open it will be a 5 bedroom, 4 full bath live-in facility that will provide long term rehabilitation to female victims of domestic minor sex trafficking until they reach the age of 18. We will be able to house up to 10 girls at one time.

We currently have licensed social workers on staff to work with victims.

When the Gracehaven House opens, we will offer the following services:

The program at Gracehaven is designed for the restoration and rehabilitation of the young survivors who are under our care. Each resident at Gracehaven will go through the program at her own pace, as she is able. Because of the horrible trauma these young girls have been exposed to, their healing and restoration requires a multi-disciplinary approach which we have divided into the following major elements:

Counseling
Our counseling curriculum will be based upon and consistent with the truths of Scripture, but will be applicable to both Christians and non-Christians alike. Counseling will be done in both a group and individual setting at a pace that is most beneficial for the resident. Only licensed counselors will be used at Gracehaven.

Education
Gracehaven will have an on-site school with a full time teacher using an individualized curriculum for each resident. The goal is for each girl to achieve age-appropriate education levels so that they can earn either a GED or high school diploma upon reaching age 18.

Mentoring
These girls benefit from having a mentoring type relationship with an older mature adult. Therefore, Gracehaven will be utilizing adult volunteers that have an interest in forming long term mentoring relationships with these girls.

Fun
Not everything at Gracehaven will be work! Regularly scheduled outings, field trips, and just plain fun trips will be a definite part of the program at Gracehaven.
