Our Mission

Mission Statement:

Gracehaven seeks through Christian love to provide shelter and rehabilitation to girls under the age of 18 who have been victims of commercial sexual exploitation, and to raise awareness among young women about the issue of domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) in order to educate and equip them so that they can avoid becoming victims themselves.

About Gracehaven:

Gracehaven (a non-profit established in 2008) is the only organization in Ohio focusing on domestic minor sex trafficking. We will add 10 beds to the total of 39 in the United States for human trafficking victims when our shelter opens. We have obtained 501(c) 3 tax exempt status with the IRS in December of 2008.

Budget:

We need $1.6 Million to operate through 2012. This includes $200,000 for purchase of the house, $150,000 in renovations, healing and education programs for the girls, training, and awareness.

Three Areas of Focus:

  • Awareness: We reach 2 million across the US and 1 million in Ohio through Public Speaking, TV, Radio, Newspaper and magazine articles.
  • Education & Training: Ohio Commission, Health care professionals, Franklin Country Children’s Services, Foster Parents, other social agencies and volunteers.
  • Saving Lives: We are not even officially open and we are already in contact with 5 girls. We want to provide them with a safe home, education, counseling, mentoring, life skills, and exposure to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To do this, we have purchased a home and are in the process of raising the $150,000 for necessary renovations before we begin to house these girls.

Gracehaven is a member of the Central Ohio Rescue & Restore Coalition (CORRC) and member of the Christian Trafficking Shelter Association (CTSA).
